Puppies!
Last night I once again had the opportunity to hang out with the most adorable yellow and black lab puppies. I have started working with Guide Dogs for the Blind. They are a great organization that started in 1942. I have been attending meetings and outings for about two months now. Last night I had the opportunity to hang out with Alvin: A 14 month old black lab who is due for re-call in March. That means he is ready to head to the campus in Boring, OR and begin his formal training to be placed with a blind person. If he does not make it, he will become a career change dog. I turned my paper work in last night to start the process of becoming a puppy sitter. Above is a picture of what a working guide dog puppy looks like at 8 weeks when they are first placed in a home.

Strep Throat
So Friday (yesterday) I woke up and my throat was killing me. I went into work and called the doctor and was able to get in. My regular doctor didn’t have any openings and at that point, I really didn’t care who I saw. Well, he said my tonsils were swollen and he was going to do a culture swab on my throat and he would call Monday if anything came back but to call him if it got worse.
This morning (Saturday) I wake up and I’m feeling better but slept for about 11 hours so hopefully I would be! I get a call around 11 am from the doctor. “Your cultures came back positive for strep so I would like to get you on antibiotics ASAP”.
Yeah, I knew I something wasn’t right. I just hope I didn’t infect everyone at small group on Wednesday or everyone serving on jury duty with me on Monday and Tuesday.
I don’t like being sick. 😦

Mono
I swear if I have mono again I might hurt something. I had it back the end of October/beginning of November of last year. Not something fun to have during the Holidays. Anyways, I had been feeling a lot better but this past week things seemed to not be right (as in the symptoms showing up again). This morning I woke up with a bad sore throat. That was the first sign last time. If I don’t feel better by Monday back to the doctor I will go.
