Colds Suck

So much for updating quickly.  I came down with a cold New Years Eve and have been feeling super lazy.  Ask me what I have done over the past couple of days and I wouldn’t be able to tell you because I did nothing!  Okay, that’s not totally true.  Yesterday my mom, sister, and I went up to Seattle to get a massage at Ummelina .   Ahhh is all I have to say.  We went there last year and you can’t beat all that is included for $90.  It starts with a foot massage and tea in their relaxation room.  You are then taken to get an hour massage (so wonderful).   After that. you head to a shower that is to die for.  They use all organic and natural products so you don’t come out feeling like you were covered by an oil slick.  Then you head back to the relaxation room for more tea and a warm towel around your neck and back.  I’m relaxed just thinking about it. 🙂

So backing up a little bit, Mr. Charming had ACL knee replacement surgery the middle of December.  He did a clean tear playing soccer a couple of months ago.   He had his other one done about 7-8 years ago so he knew what was coming.  Since he was going to be at home for a few weeks, we decided to get Netflix. I know, I know, we are like the last people on the block to do so. 🙂 It is super nice to also be able to watch movies and shows through the Xbox 360.

We also had snow: Lots of snow.  So much that I really was starting to hate it after oh day 2.  The worse part is getting out of our driveway (which is on a small hill) onto the hill in front of our road to get down the hill. Yes, lots of hill + snow = me not driving.  Thankfully I had loaded up on food and we had no place we needed to go. We did have a white Christmas which was kind of fun.

For Christmas, we went to my parent’s house that morning and then Mr. Charming’s family came over (his parents, two sisters, brother-in-law, and our nephew). We had a wonderful time spending the day with family.  Note to self for next year though, remember to pull out the ham and defrost it….Oops! 🙂

With that, it’s time for me to take a break.  Next update will be Guide Dog related.  🙂

Living in the Pacific Northwest all my life, fall is a time I enjoy.  During my 4 years at UW, I always loved when the leaves would change colors around campus.  I’m one of those people who will go out of their way to step on a crunchy leaf. I’m always sad to see summer leave (maybe because it always seems to short!)  I know fall it’s on it’s way as we turned on the fireplace last night, the flannel sheets went on the bed, we drank apple cider, I wore a sweater to work today, our maple tree in the backyard leaves are changing color, and the weather (wind/rain).  What is your favorite thing about fall?

Snow: In March?

I kept hearing that there was snow in the forecast but didn’t believe it.  Living in Seattle all my life, I have learned as much I like Steve Pool  he sometimes lies. Okay maybe he doesn’t lie per say, but wrong predictions.  I didn’t think anything of snow as last weekend I was out panting bulbs in the backyard in the sunshine.

Last night I am driving home and I see snowflakes starting to fall on my windshield. I kept glancing outside once I got home and it kept coming down.  Once it was all said and done around 11pm we had around 2″.  This morning I’m driving down off the hill we live on and I get to the bottom and nothing.  No snow; dry roads.  I think God just turned on the snow blower over my house so I would enjoy the 75+ degree in weather in Vegas this weekend. 🙂

With that, I’ll be in warmth in a little over 7 hours.  I’m so looking forward to it.  I told Mr. Charming and myself that I would go without Internet for 3 full days.  It will be good for me.  I’ll let you all know how it went when I come back.
