San Francisco

I left my heart in San Francisco. 😦 I loved it down there and can’t wait to visit again.  We flew in Thursday evening (after a flight delay because of thunder/lightening at Sea-Tac).  Friday morning we headed out to Alcatraz.  I’ve always wanted to go for some reason (I think it was after my Gangester Tour in Chicago).  It’s a lot smaller than I was expecting for some reason.  You have to visit “The Rock” if you ever go to San Francisco I will say that much.

When we got back, we had lunch and walked around Pier 39 and then to Ghirardelli Square.  That night we had dinner reservations at Kokkari which has some amazing Greek food.

Saturday morning we headed out to Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafael (about 1/2 an hour north of San Francisco) for Puppy Fun Day (next post). 🙂  After that, we headed down to Mountain View which is where Mr. Charming grew up to see his old elementary school and house.  We ended up playing mini-golf and a little Skee Ball at an arcade before heading back.

Sunday morning we woke up and rented bikes to bike across the Golden Gate Bridge.  It was a beautiful bike ride and not too busy.  We then headed to ride the cable car (another must do in San Francisco). As we were going up and over the hills I keep thinking, “Rice-A-Roni, The San Francisco Treat” *Ding* *Ding* 🙂 We then to drive down Lombard Street (we had walked down it earlier that weekend).  I can’t image living on that hill, but it was fun to drive down!  We then headed to the park where the opening from Full House was filmed.  We then had to head to the airport for our flight home.

Random side note, but while we were down there we had a Nissan Altima Hybrid.  It was the first time either of us had been in one or drove it and I have to say we were rather impressed.  I think that might have to go on our short list next time we are looking for cars (though it’s currently not available in WA state).

I’m a Slacker

I promised an update on all the yummy food I ate on my trip to Las Vegas.  Here are FINALLY some pictures.  (Sorry peeps, it’s been a busy week!)

This is what we call a mini-muffin.  Good thing this wasn’t the only thing I had for breakfast.

Ut oh I ate all the In-N-Out Fries 😦  The milkshake was also very yummy.

This is a Peach Martini from Hank’s Steakhouse at the Green Valley Ranch…Best Martini EVER.  Maybe it was because of the Grey Goose Vodka.  I don’t know.  I can’t forget the aug gratin potatoes in the background: Those were super tasty also.

I *heart* Isla at Treasure Island.  The BEST nachos and margaritas.  I was all excited thinking the cheese sauce was some special imported Mexican cheese. (Okay so does Mexico make cheese to import? Probably not).  Thanks Ms. Waitress Lady for raining on my parade and letting me know it’s just Velveeta and spices: Maybe that is why it is so addictive.  Plus they give you three types of salsa with your basket of chips.  Don’t mind Mr. Charming’s arm…

I hope you enjoyed my Blog about food.  Now that I have figured out how to do pictures, hopefully my Blog will get a little bit more exciting. 🙂

Chinese Food

Posted in Restaurants tagged at 5:34 am by smilinshell11

There is a place called The China House which has the best Chinese food ever. It is in a strip mall and one of those places you wouldn’t go to unless you knew someone else who had been there. It is one of the only Chinese places I can eat and feel okay afterwards. The family and I go there so often that when I walked in tonight to pick up some BBQ pork fried rice for small group the main gal said “Hello, welcome back. I haven’t seen you in awhile!” (in a strong Chinese accent) 🙂 I told her luckily I would also be in next Tuesday for dinner with my mom. In fact, I have about $100 worth of gift certificate there from Birthdays and Christmas.

Yeah: It’s that good.
