Outside Christmas Lights
Dear Neighbors,
I honestly did a double take. I’m no Martha Stewart of outside light decorating but wow. I really do feel bad taking a picture and posting it on the Internet. I’m a little confused how you came to the conclusion that 5 different strands of lights would look good. I don’t mean to sound rude, but I think it would look better with no lights than what you currently have hanging.
Thanks,
Your Next Door Neighbor

The Results Are In
I took the “Dyson Challenge”. I first vacuumed the front room with my old vacuum and then went over the same area with my new Dyson. It is not a big area as I was feeling lazy and didn’t feel like vacuuming twice! Here are the contenders:
On the right, we have my old Bissell vacuum. On the left, we have the challenger: A Dyson DC18 Slim.
Without further ado, here are the results:
The left is what I vacuumed up with my old Bissell. The right is the additional “stuff” the Dyson picked up. It doesn’t seem like that much but the area I was vacuuming wasn’t that big.
Needless to say, I have vacuumed the whole house (some parts twice).
If you are to ever get a Dyson, I would recommend one with the ball. It works really well on the stairs with the attachment and the cord is apparently short for a Dyson, but longer than my Bissell. It is very easy to maneuver and carry up the stairs without killing yourself.
I love my Dyson DC18 Slim and the Dyson Airblade that I was able to use the other day in a restroom. Mr. Dyson, you have made me a believer.

It’s HERE! :)
To the one person who voted it would ship early, you were right!
My Dyson arrived this afternoon and I think I’m in love. In its blog debut, my new Dyson DC18 Slim:
Tomorrow I will post the results of my “Dyson Challenge”. In other words, I will vacuum with my old vacuum and then vacuum with the Dyson to see how much extra stuff it picks up. Happy early Christmas to me!

Simmons does the Christmas Tree Farm
On Saturday we had Simmons so we decided to take him the Christmas Tree Farm:
Honestly, he wasn’t as helpful as we were hoping he would be in finding a tree.
He seemed more interested in trying to figure out why the horses in the pasture next to the tree farm didn’t look like him.
Once we were back home, I pulled out the rope toy that I got at Petco the other day. He was really confused by it which was pretty funny.
Once he was done playing, he was one tired boy:
On Friday, the Puppy Truck came and we got a new puppy to our group, Topeka. I haven’t seen her yet so I don’t have any pictures. When I do, I’ll be sure to post them. She is female black lab with some brindle coloring on her back and feet.

Want Versus Need
I’m having that major dilemma right now. I feel like I need this: Dyson DC18 Slim Vacuum Now you might think, “$250 for a VACUUM!!!” but anyone who has ever had one tells me that it the BEST vacuum they have ever owned. My current vacuum is something like this: Bissell Upright Bagless Granted I could sell my old vacuum on Craigslist and get something for it. The Dyson I want is 1/2 off plus if I order before midnight, Mr. Charming found a code for free shipping. Right now we have mostly carpet throughout the house but plan on soon putting in some sort of wood flooring and in that case, do I really need a nice vacuum? We don’t have a dog that lives with us (though we might puppy-sit once a month for a weekend) or really bad allergies.
To buy or not to buy, that is the question.
